Student Work from Teaching

Samples of student work from teaching

Digital Techniques - Fall 2019 | Fall 2020

These examples are from two sections of Digital Techniques I taught asynchronously during the Fall 2020 semester and one taught in the classroom during the fall 2019. I video recorded critiques for each student for their process and final iterations. Those critiques focused on composition, color, light, and concept. Further interactions were through Zoom to talk through program challenges or to further develop a concept or idea. In the class room, I would talk about each project with the class, pointing out specifics on the projector screen. I would sit with each student, one-on-one to talk about best practices, concepts and overall composition of a project.

2D Design - Fall 2018 | Winter 2019

These examples are from two sections of 2D Design. I would start each class presenting that day’s topic to the class with some accompanying slides projected with examples. The class was mostly about design foundation focusing on composition, object grouping and color concepts. I would go one-on-one with each student to talk about their progress and, would have class critiques encouraging students to use the correct design terms and understand what it means to give and receive a critique.
